Overview of Services for Attorneys

After only a few years of practice many attorneys wake up one day and no longer recognize the person they have become. They feel lost and disconnected from their passions, too tired to connect with their loved ones and unfulfilled by the constant grind of their work. They wonder why they went to law school in the first place. They ask, "where did that passionate, go-getter with wild dreams go?" When they try to think about what they really want to do, they get stuck in a dizzying mess of confusion or an endless list of reasons why what they really want is totally impractical. The fear and confusion sets in. No action gets taken until they hit rock bottom with their relationships, burn out or a finally recognize that their life feels completely lifeless.

By working with me, you can get your groove back, reassert your passions and move towards what makes your soul sing. Maybe it’s returning to the reason you went to law school in the first place. Learning how to maintain your sense of self within the practice of law by bringing more of your essence into your work and through work/life balance and regular renewal to prevent burnout. Or maybe its recognizing that its okay to walk away from the practice of law all together even though you spent a fortune to get there because being articulate and a good writer are not reason enough to stick it out in a profession you dislike.

The first step is to return home to yourself. Using the Embodied Clarity Approach, you’ll learn to settle back into your self and what you know to be true about yourself without the constant chatter, internal criticism and doubt you have internalized through the constant pressure and criticism of practicing law. You can recognize the support of your body and how it provides the foundation for self-trust or a sense of being “centered and grounded.” It’s the place you can always return to find your power, tranquility and calm readiness.

The results can be varied.

  • Stay in law but learn how to make it sustainable
  • Explore other legal avenues
  • Transition into something completely different

Regardless of which direction you chose, you will:

  • Feel like yourself again—vibrant, alive, interesting, connected
  • Recognize the external influences keeping you from your dreams and desires
  • Move out of anxiety and reactivity and into a place of possibility, wisdom and clarity
  • Recognize what you really want and move toward what makes you happy and fulfilled
  • Align your values and actions
  • Get ready to tackle the world with passion, courage and conviction

How can I juggle? Sustainability and work/life balance programs

Full Programs and Individual Sessions Available.

When asked, most attorneys cite the lack of work/life balance as the most difficult part of their jobs and the cause for most of their dissatisfaction. Amidst the constant pressure of practicing law—the long hours, client pressures, unpredictable deadlines, it’s no surprise that it is extremely difficult for attorneys to maintain balance and sustainability. Even though it would be nice for law firms to enact practices and policies to promote work/life balance, it is far more effective for you to gain control of your own well-being. That’s why I have developed programs to help attorneys learn strategies for balanced purposeful living.

Together we will:

  • Explore stress reduction techniques—meditation, centering, breathing etc.
  • Become grounded and confident in your body language and stance
  • Understand what gets in the way of this basic commitment to yourself and your well-being
  • Learn how to remain resilient in the face of stress and conflict
  • Cultivate practices that foster sustainability to avoid burnout.

Help I’m drowning! Wellness and Stress Reduction

Full Programs and Individual Sessions Available.

Are you constantly stressed? Do you bark at your loved ones? Are you suffering from pain and illness?

Attorneys undergo an extraordinary amount of stress that takes a toll on your emotional and physical well-being. You are probably in constant motion, rarely stopping to renew and refresh your system. As a result, your ability to connect with others, think clearly, maintain focus or manage your emotions is compromised. Working out, while it does have benefits, can be experienced by the body as yet another stressor. Therefore, in order to avoid burn out and maintain critical thinking and intuition, its imperative to learn practices that cultivate renewal and reduce stress.

Because of my expertise in Feldenkrais, Qigong and other meditation and somatic practices, I can help you design and implement a program to reduce stress and prevent burnout. But we all know its not just about knowing what to do. It’s also about changing the habits and behaviors that prevent you from finding the time to take care of your self. So, we will take a hard look at what prevents you from prioritizing the very things that allow you to operate at your best.
