Overview of Alaya

Alaya is the Sanskrit word for home or abode. (e.g. “Himalaya” = Snow Home). But Alaya is also used to refer more broadly to refer to a returning home or homecoming. In Buddhism, Alaya is used to refer to an abiding in the pure awareness or pure consciousness where there is ultimate clarity.

Many of us feel like we have lost ourselves or aren’t at home in our own skin, and as a result, we are confused and unclear. We yearn for a sort of homecoming to ourselves but continue to look for the keys outside because there is more light and more distraction outside. At Alaya Coaching, I help you return home to yourself so you can ignite the light of your internal spirit. I call it Embodied Clarity because, returning home to ourselves, starts with returning to an embodied sense of oneself—and that brings a deep clarity.

I work with creative, successful professionals, lawyers and entrepreneurs who feel like they have lost their internal compass and bearings. My clients are driven and successful but they feel one-dimensional, and lack energy, balance and fulfillment. They envision a more satisfying life and more balanced career. My Approach

Combining techniques from Qigong and Feldenkrais, I help you cultivate the ability to return “home” in the body so you can make choices and take action from a powerfully rooted foundation.

Sessions focus on giving you an experience of a being fully present and at ease in your body. You learn how to settle down from the busyness of day-to-day life so you can actually hear your internal wisdom. From this place, you gain a new vantage point and fresh solutions because you escape your habitual sense of self and cultivate a completely different sense of self. Once you learn to let go of your habitual approach to your problems and can rest in your natural resourcefulness, we can begin more traditional Integral Coaching sessions from a place of renewed possibility and clarity.
